(CBS Detroit) – A proposed initiative searching for to overturn Detroit’s adult-use hashish licensing ordinance was shot down by The Detroit Election Fee.

Though the town constitution states 2,811 signatures are wanted to safe a poll spot, 6,475 signatures are required below the Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marijuana Act.

Residents for Higher Social Fairness collected 4,844 signatures, over 3,000 had been deemed legitimate.

Detroit Metropolis Council President Professional-Tem James Tate sponsored the ordinance, giving choice to legacy Detroiters to create social fairness alternatives.
